Campus-Based Military Liaisons
At TOPS, we have campus-based military liaisons who welcome students, help students connect with peers and find a place of belonging at school, facilitate orientation, offer support for academic success, provide social emotional support, provide professional development to staff on the unique needs of military-connected students, and provide opportunities for the school community to learn about and support military families.
Meet Your TOPS Military Liaisons

Jessica Hooks, Social Worker
Hi, my name is Jessica Hooks and I am proud to be the daughter and granddaughter of two Marine Veterans. My father served in the Vietnam War and my maternal grandfather served in the Korean War and the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. As a social worker and therapist, I have been honored to work with multiple Military families both on and off bases. For 6 years, I served as a volunteer therapist for Camp COPE, a therapeutic weekend camp for the fallen, wounded, and deployed soldiers and their children at bases across the United States. I look forward to working with our Military families! You can reach me at [email protected] or 469.232.7228.

Monica Martinez, Middle School Liaison
Hello! My name is Monica Martinez, and I come from a family with a deep connection to military service. My uncles all served in different branches of the military before they passed, and their commitment to our country has always been a source of inspiration for me. My brother served in the Navy Reserves, and my sister dedicated 12 years to the Army, where she is now a proud veteran. Their experiences and sacrifices have shaped my appreciation for service, resilience, and dedication. I’m grateful to carry forward these values in everything I do, honoring their legacy through my own journey on the Military Liaison Committee. You can reach me at [email protected] or 682.990.7257.

Jen Overmyer, High School Liaison
Hello! My name is Jennifer Overmyer and to let you know a little bit about myself, I served as a Civil Affairs Officer in the US Army Reserves for six years to include a year-long deployment to Iraq as a Civil Affairs Team Leader attached to a US State Department led Provincial Reconstruction Team. Upon my redeployment in 2010 I married my husband who was an active-duty Infantry Officer, and we began to start our family. As a family we have lived at several posts to include Ft. Drum, NY, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, and Ft. Bliss, TX where my husband retired from after 25 years of active duty. Since I had my first child in 2011 my husband deployed 3 times and was away on TDY so many times I lost count. I know what it’s like to need a little bit of extra support and grace, and I am here to help in any way I can. Please, reach out if you need anything!!!You can reach me at [email protected] or 682.282.6392.
